Mandarin

Standard

I had my first mandarin lesson, I learned a few greetings and replies. I don’t think I remember them all, but I can’t forget one phrase

ma ma hu hu

that’s right! Try saying that few times while keeping a straight face.

It actually means ‘not bad’, and it’s used just like it is in English.

ni hao ma?

ma ma hu hu!

I don’t think I’ll need to translate that. . .
